From Small Beginnings
Lobster Records is an independent record label based in Santa Barbara, California and Fort Lauderdale, Florida founded by Steve Lubarsky. The label first gained attention with local Santa Barbara favorites Bad Neighbor, a funk rock band known for their energetic performances and loyal following. Lobster Records expanded its roster with artists like Buck Wild, featuring Shawn Dewey of Lagwagon and other bands, including Jargon, Joystick and Staring Back. The label further established its reputation by releasing influential records from prominent pop punk bands, including Yellowcard’s album “One for the Kids”, Over It’s “Timing Is Everything” and Whippersnapper’s “America’s Favorite Pastime”. Lobster Records continued in its dedication to authentic and passionate music by issuing music by Mock Orange, Park and Days Like These. Our label remains committed to discovering and promoting unique musical talents.
